Century Equipment
Century Equipment’s story began in 1950, serving the Toledo and lower Michigan region as a lawn mower sales and service company. Over time, the business steadily grew into a major distributor of commercial turf equipment, becoming a trusted provider of select Toro and Club Car products. Its service area expanded to include all of Ohio, lower Michigan, and portions of West Virginia and Kentucky, supported by branch locations in Toledo, Cleveland, Cincinnati, and Columbus.
In 1986, the company selected Hilliard as the ideal home for its central location. The growing community offered excellent opportunities for retail sales and positioned Century Equipment to better serve customers throughout its territory. That decision proved to be a lasting one—Hilliard has been the company’s base of operations for nearly 30 years.
A new chapter began in 2020 when Century Equipment was acquired by Jerry Pate Turf and Irrigation, headquartered in Pensacola, Florida. Now operating as Century Equipment, a Jerry Pate Company, the business continues to provide high-quality sales and service for commercial-grade Toro equipment. Its primary customers include local golf courses and country clubs, universities, and municipalities that rely on dependable turf solutions.
On the Club Car side, the Hilliard location offers both retail golf cart sales and ongoing service, supporting customers long after their purchase to keep their carts operating smoothly for years to come.
Through all its growth and evolution, the company’s mission has remained steady: to build valued relationships through integrity and professionalism while enhancing the quality of life and well-being of people and communities. In keeping with that promise, Century Equipment is always open to new opportunities to support the Hilliard community that has supported them for nearly three decades.
