Kay Bible
Kay Bible was recently elected to our Hilliard Historical Society Board of Trustees. For more than four decades Kay has called Hilliard home. Drawn here initially for a teaching position with Hilliard City Schools—and as a proud graduate herself—she and her husband settled in the community 41 years ago. Despite the city’s remarkable growth over the years, she continues to appreciate Hilliard’s enduring small-town charm.
When asked what she loves most about Hilliard, Kay doesn’t hesitate: “The Historical Village is a Hilliard gem,” she says. Her introduction to the Hilliard Ohio Historical Society’s Historical Village came years ago while accompanying school groups on tours. “We raised our family here because of the school system and the small-town feel, even though it was growing quickly,” she adds.
A dedicated supporter of the Hilliard Ohio Historical Society (HOHS) for about four years, Kay first became involved out of a deep appreciation for history. “I enjoy learning about the past and historical events,” she explains. What she enjoys most about theSociety are the engaging activities and school tours that connect residents and visitor with Hilliard’s heritage.
Her volunteer work often centers around events—helping to prepare, plan, and participate whenever she can. “I feel more connected with Hilliard and its history by being involved with HOHS,” she shares. “There are many devoted volunteers that I look up to—they encourage the rest of us.”
When asked how Hilliard and the HOHS could continue to grow, she emphasizes outreach and engagement: “Just continue to inform the community and involve them as much as possible.” She believes spreading awareness about all that Hilliard has to offer will help strengthen both the community and the Historical Society.
Outside of her volunteer work, Kay enjoys traveling and blogging about her experiences, as well as reading and crafting. Her commitment to HOHS reflects her passion for preserving local history and sharing it with others.
Her story is a testament to the kind of stewardship that keeps Hilliard’s heritage alive—one volunteer, one story, and one event at a time.
