Destination Hilliard
Since its founding in November 2014, Destination Hilliard has been on a mission to elevate the visibility and perception of the city it proudly represents. Established under the leadership of its first executive director, Christy Clark, this destination marketing organization (DMO) was created to stimulate economic growth and community engagement through the promotion of everything Hilliard has to offer.
At its core, Destination Hilliard exists to support and grow Hilliard’s economy by highlighting the city’s events, attractions, culture, history, recreation, dining, shopping, lodging, and meeting spaces. Whether you're a resident looking for something new to explore, a traveler seeking hidden gems, or an event organizer looking for the perfect venue, Destination Hilliard serves as the go-to resource.
Over the years, the organization has benefited from the leadership of three executive directors, each of whom brought unique strengths and perspectives that helped shape the evolution of the organization. One particularly notable aspect of Destination Hilliard is its active role in hosting events—something that sets it apart from many other DMOs. Recognizing that Hilliard residents love things to do, the organization embraced event-hosting as a powerful way to connect people and build community pride.
Destination Hilliard has played a vital role in enhancing the quality of life in the city. Through promotional efforts and original programming, the organization has become a trusted resource for discovering the best of Hilliard. Its efforts include not just promoting but also producing key community events designed to celebrate the "everyday experience in everyone’s hometown."
Among these efforts is the Hilliard History Express, a standout collaboration between the City of Hilliard, local schools, the Historical Society, businesses, and Destination Hilliard itself. This project aims to connect the community through shared stories and experiences, drawing attention to Hilliard’s rich and vibrant past. Residents and visitors of all ages are encouraged to explore the experience and discover the roots that make Hilliard special.
Destination Hilliard also supports events like the Columbus Coffee Festival, helping to bring in regional interest and highlighting the city's capacity to host unique, inclusive gatherings. Through such efforts, the organization not only increases tourism but also fosters a sense of connection and pride within the local community.
In every campaign and event, Destination Hilliard stays true to its mission: to make Hilliard shine and to bring people together. Destination Hilliard invites you to see the city through a new lens—full of opportunity, charm, and hometown heart.
